LEADERSHIP
President’s Corner
Greetings and welcome to the official website of the
Sigma Mu Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc.
I am Joan Gaudet, and it is my honor to serve as the president of this amazing, creative, and tireless group of women. This chapter has been “Building on the Principles of Zeta while Blazing New Paths” and exemplifying the principles of Scholarship, Service, Sisterly Love, and Finer Womanhood since its inception in December 2001.
We honor those principles by mentoring two undergraduate chapters, Alpha Tau (Emory University) and Iota Sigma (Clayton State University), through our adopt-a-school program with Rainbow Elementary School and by annually awarding scholarships to deserving students across DeKalb County. Our commitment of service to the community keeps the chapter actively engaged and connected through our elder care initiatives, partnerships with the March of Dimes and the Sickle Cell Foundation and volunteering with programs like Let’s Move DeKalb, Hosea Feed the Hungry and anywhere else that we see an opportunity to render service.
Sigma Mu Zeta is an award-winning chapter. Members currently hold leadership roles at the State, Regional and National levels. The charter members of this chapter envisioned a hardworking organization deeply rooted in the community, bound by unbreakable bonds of sisterly love and we work diligently daily to live up to their vision.
Thank you for visiting our website, and we hope you will take the time to further explore all that the Sigma Mu Zeta Chapter has to offer.
If you are interested in learning more about us, we urge you to reach out to our membership committee and look forward to working with you.

Serving in Sisterly Love
